Orma L. Bowes, 83, of 562 Gilmore St., Meadville, died Friday, August 23, 2002 at Meadville Medical Center.
She was born August 21, 1919 in Teepleville, PA a daughter of Leigh F. and Blanche Lord Wilcox. She married George L. Bowes August 25, 1937 and he preceded her in death December 30, 1972.
She retired in 1987 as a Nurses Aid at the Meadville Medical Center after 12 years of service. Previously she had also worked at 1 Hour Martinizing, Cargo, and Quaker Cleaners.
She was a graduate of Cambridge Springs High School. She was a family person with a great sense of humor who enjoyed keeping up on current events, her flower gardens, and was a big fan of Tiger Woods.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Lake and her husband Daryl of Meadville and Linda Ebbert and her husband G. William of Las Vegas, NV; a son, Leigh Bowes and his wife Janet of Cambridge Springs; a sister, Lola Holland of Meadville; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Wilcox; a grandson, Donald Bowes and a great-granddaughter, Amelia Lake.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Craig Peterson, Pastor of Townville United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
