Orville F. Huber, Jr.

Orville F. Huber, Jr., 62, of Meadville, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at his residence following a period of failing health.

He was born in Meadville March 28, 1946, a son of the late Orville F. and Louise A. Weyman Huber, Sr.  He married Trudy Deffner August 2, 1980.

A 1964 graduate of Meadville High School, Orville worked for the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad for 10 years as a lineman and conductor.  He also worked for the former McCrosky Tool Company, American Safety Service, Vernon Township in the maintenance department, Loblaw’s Grocery Store in the bakery department, and retired in 2008 from the Meadville Club.  He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, Vernon Central and Vernon Volunteer Fire Departments, and Meadville Masonic Lodge 408.  He enjoyed farming and hunting.

Orville formerly attended Littles Corners United Methodist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Trudy of 28 years, include 2 sons, Orville F. (Bud) Huber, III and his wife Lori of Conneaut Lake and Michael E. Huber and his wife Maureen of Meadville; a daughter, Jennifer Merritt and her husband Michael of Meadville; 3 step-children, Chris Evans and his wife Shelly of Meadville, Hans Deffner and his wife Chris of San Antonio, TX, and Dora Euliano of Phoenix, AZ; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Jessie Durasa and her husband Carl of Conneautville; a brother, Paul L. Huber and his wife Francie of Meadville; and nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William (Bill) Paul Huber and a brother, William Huber.

Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Kennedy, Pastor of Littles Corners United Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will be in Denny Cemetery.
