Oscar D. Smith

Oscar D. Smith, 76, husband of Hattie Britton Smith, of Meadville, died at City Hospital Sunday, July 13, 1958, after a long illness.

He was born in Randolph Township, October 19, 1881, a son of Jacob B. and Mary Ellen Davison Smith.  He married the former Hattie Britton, December 27, 1905.

He was a farmer in East Mead Township from 1906 to 1954.

Besides his widow, survivors include three daughters, Miss Marian E. Smith, at home, Miss Marjorie E. Smith of Cleveland and Mrs. Mildred E. Bowen of Cleveland; three sisters, Mrs. Maye Hanks of Springboro, Mrs. Loretta McNamara of Blooming Valley and Mrs. Maggie Oakes of Mt. Hope; two brothers, Irwin J. of Meadville and Lloyd Smith of Meadville; several nieces and nephews and two grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
