Otto Schwab

Otto (Ted) Schwab, 74, of Meadville, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999 at Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health. He was born August 26, 1924 in Vernon Township, a son of the late Henry O. and Aarnetta Schwab. He married Lucille Sheets March 24, 1951. She survives. He worked for the former Erie-Lackawanna Railroad for 25 years, retiring as a brakeman and conductor. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Saegertown American Legion #205, volunteered in American Legion fund raising and was a 50 year member of the United Transportation Union. He was also a volunteer of the Meadville Medical Center Aux. and the American Cancer Society. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a former member of State Road United Methodist Church. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a brother, Sylvester M. Schwab of Meadville and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Schwab and a step-brother, Wilbert Smith. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
