P. Jean Green

P. Jean Green, 93, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born April 22, 1929 in Saegertown, a daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth Sample Peters.  She married John N. Green November 5, 1947 and he preceded her in death July 8, 1992.

Jean was a 1947 graduate of Meadville High School.  A homemaker, she also performed house work for various people throughout the years.

Jean was a life-member of VFW Post 2006, and member and past president of the Supreme Cootiette Club through which she volunteered at the Erie V.A. Hospital and Soldiers and Sailors Home of Erie.  She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, enjoyed traveling, and especially spending time with her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include four children, John ( Jack) Green (Janet) of Leander, TX, Anita Gumiela of Salisbury, NC, Kathleen Phillips of Meadville, and Cheryl Wellmon (William) of Meadville; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Urey; a grandson, Eric Gumiela; and two sisters, Betty Schwab and an infant Shirley Peters.

Private family services will be held at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
