Parr H. Dole, for many years associated with Cities Service, died at his home in Meadville, this morning, after a long period of failing health.
An outstanding career in communications during World War I earned for him a citation October 15, 1920, from President Woodrow Wilson. A lieutenant in the US Navy, he was at times "loaned" to the Army, for duties in Europe involving both branches of service.
Born in Columbus, OH, Mr. Dole spent the early years of his life there. He was graduated from Adlers Military Academy and earned a degree in engineering from Ohio State University at Columbus. He was employed by the Daughterty Organization in New York City which later became Cities Service Co., and most of his life he was associated with that company, living in many cities and being identified with major developments of the organization.
Mr. Dole has resided in Meadville the past six years.
He is survived by his widow, the former Gladys Klingensmith, whom he married about 17 years ago. There is one other survivor, a cousin, Miss Marian Hammell of San Francisco, CA.
Affiliated with the Christian Science denomination, he was a member of the Mother Church at Boston, Mass. He belonged to the F&AM Lodge at Columbus, and to the Charles N. Stafford Post, American Legion in Meadville. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity at Ohio State University.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
