Pastor Wm. Dale Adams, 75, of Meadville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, August 26, 2011 at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born March 28, 1936 in Shelocta, a son of MelVernon and Agnes Jane Borland Adams. He married Audrey Irwin June 30, 1956.
Dale was a 1954 graduate of Cambridge Springs High School and attended Cedarville College, Cedarville, OH, Lincoln Electric Welding School, Cleveland, OH, and Thiel College, Greenville. He was owner and operator of Dale’s Construction Company for 40 years and also pastored at various area churches including Donation Hill Bible Church for the past 21 years.
Dale was a licensed pilot who owned and flew airplanes, enjoyed working on cars and had a deep love of music and singing.
Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Audrey of 55 years, include a daughter, Debora Elaine Courtney and her companion Chris Larson of Baltimore, MD; two sons, Kenneth Dale Adams and his wife Susan of Meadville and Kevin Bruce Adams of Meadville; four grandchildren, Dixie Lee Courtney, Michael Dale Adams, Joshua Paul Adams, and Paige McKenzie Adams; a sister, Mildred (Dote) Beerbower of Hollidaysburg; two brothers, MelVernon Adams, Jr. of Home, PA and James H. Adams and his wife Phyllis of Venango; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward George Adams and a granddaughter, Kristen Grace Adams.
Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral and committal service will Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dwight Zimmerman officiating.
