Patricia Anne Gordon

March 19, 1929 — October 19, 2017

Patricia A. Gordon, 88, of Meadville, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in Meadville while surrounded by her beloved family on Thursday, October 19, 2017. From her birth on March 19, 1929 to her death, Pattie was a sweet soul who nurtured those around her with love, compassion, happiness and so much more. She was the only child of Clarence and Bertha (Beers) First and gave them such joy before they both rested eternally. Pattie was a 1947 graduate of Meadville Area High School and continued to serve her class for 50+ years through the organization and implementation of the class reunions. She went on to attend Allegheny College. During that time she met and, soon after, married the late William (Bill) R. Gordon on July 2, 1949. Prior to becoming a dedicated wife, homemaker, and mom, she was employed as an assistant to the president of the former Meadville Telephone Company. Her affiliations included membership to Stone United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Meadville Country Club. Pattie truly lived life through simple pleasures. She enjoyed reading, needlepoint, taking and compiling photographs, playing the piano, sitting poolside, writing poetry, and attending her familys activities. She was an avid golfer, bowler, and bridge player. She looked forward to wintering in Homosassa Springs with Bill during their early retirement years. In addition to the aforementioned, Pattie was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bill, and her granddaughter, Angela Dellamedaglia. The two of them are survived by three daughters: Cynthia Dellamedaglia and her husband, Keith of Meadville; Cheryl Lawrence and her husband, Joseph of Saegertown; Patti Jo Elvin and her husband, Craig of Harrisburg, PA; two sons: Scott W. Gordon of Meadville and Gregg W. Gordon and his wife, Allyson of Meadville. In addition, Pattie was blessed with six grandchildren, including Ellie Lawrence Amory and her husband, Jason; Joseph Lawrence, Jr. and his wife, Kelly; Lacey Dellamedaglia Sheets and her husband, Robert; Carly Gordon Natalie and her husband, Joel; Jenna Gordon Nelson and her husband, Daniel; and Zachary G. Elvin. Pattie was adorned with four great-grandchildren: Tyler and Maria Amory; Carter and Lorelei Sheets; two nieces, Kim Miller and Robin Birnie of Florida. She lovingly received long-term care from Lynsey Kightlinger, Saunja Gruber, Kim Scott, and Tessa Slayton along with the late Lucy Gillingham and other special women over the years. Anyone whose life has been touched by Pattie is invited to visitation hours on Saturday, October 21st from 2:00-3:30 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m., with an intermittent "Celebration of Life" service from 3:30-4:00 p.m. at Robert W.
