Patricia E. Johnston

Patricia E. Johnston, 70, of Conneaut Lake, died Saturday, July 19, 2008 at her residence following an unexpected illness.

She was born in McKeesport July 1, 1938, a daughter of the late Fred and June Ramsey Keller.  She had been married to Teddy Sloan and subsequently married Raymond Johnston February 28, 1983.

A graduate of McKeesport High School, she was a licensed cosmetologist.  She was employed as a school bus drive for Fist Student (formerly Laidlaw) and had previously worked at the Hallmark Store at the Meadville Mall, Lake Village in Andover, OH, and Cleveland Brass in Kinsman, OH.

A woman of faith, she was a long-time member of Faith and Grace Fellowship of Conneaut Lake where she was a Deaconess.  She and her husband Ray donated the land for the Church building.  She previously taught at the School of Evangelism at Pymatuning Community Church.  Patricia was a very special woman who cared deeply about others and was always willing to help anyone in need.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Ray of 25 years, include a daughter Bambi Carey and her husband Thomas of Conneaut Lake; 2 sons, Fred Sloan and his wife Joyce of Utah and Richard Sloan of Virginia Beach, VA; 3 step-children, Cheryl Copeland and her husband Ralph of Saegertown; Mark Johnston and his wife Michelle of Ormond Beach, FL; and Craig Johnston and his wife Donna of Cochranton; her stepmother, June Keller of Boulder, CO; a brother, Richard Keller of Boulder, CO; 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Thaddeus Carey and a brother, Robert Broman.

Visitation and services will be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Faith and Grace Fellowship, 8467 Leach Rd., Conneaut Lake.

An additional gathering and reception will be Saturday, August 16th at the Tom and Bambi Carey home, 8661 Leach Rd., Conneaut Lake beginning at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Raymond Johnston, 8543 Leach Rd., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.
