Patricia E. Lace

Patricia E. Lace, 78, of Conneaut Lake and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died there Friday, October 5, 2018.

She was born September 17, 1940 in New Kensington, PA a daughter of John Frank Cwiklik and Stella Lingelbach Cwiklik Gift.  She married Arthur A. Lace July 28, 1966 and he preceded her in death December 2, 2000.

Pat received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Master’s degree in Education from the University of Pittsburgh.  She worked as a teacher in the Kiski Area and Burrell School Districts.  She retired from the Burrell School District.  In her retirement, she worked as a substitute teacher for the Intermediate Unit and the Conneaut Lake and Wattsburg Schools.

She enjoyed 56 summers at Conneaut Lake where she enjoyed water sports and sailing.  She also enjoyed golfing, antiques and was an avid gardener as a member of the Penn State Master Gardeners.  She put in several butterfly gardens in the area with the Master Gardeners and always had a butterfly garden at the Crawford County Fair.  She was also a member of the Antique Study Club and Conneaut Lake Garden Club.

She is survived by a daughter, Dana M. DeArment (Jon) of Meadville; a son, Michael S. Lace of Baltimore; two step-sons, Davie Lace (Libby) of Simpsonville, SC and Daniel Lace of New York City; a step-daughter, Lynn Ogburn (Kapp) of Chapel Hill, NC; seven grandchildren; a brother, Daniel Lee Gift of Leechburg, PA; two sisters, Diane Lynn Encisco (Gary) of Lower Burrell, PA and Betty Jane Weiss (Clifford) of Conneaut Lake and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

A private family graveside service will be held in Greendale Cemetery, Meadville.
