Patricia Y. Shearer

Patricia Y. Shearer, 76 of Millcreek Twp, Sandy Lake, passed away on November 25, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. Patricia was born on October 7, 1944 in Adrian, MI to the late Richard and Letha (Rathburn) Sears. She was a 1962 graduate of Concord High School in Concord, MI, and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Spring Harbor College, and eventually her Master’s Degree in Special Education from Slippery Rock University. Patricia loved teaching children and worked as a teacher for many years. She also worked as the office manager for the family business, and worked and volunteered at many local preschools. Her teaching touched the lives of so many over her years. She also enjoyed gardening and enjoyed flowers, especially when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren would pick her wildflowers. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Patricia married her beloved husband, Frank L. Shearer on June 1, 1963, he survives at home. In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by her children, Todd Shearer and wife Jackie of Sandy Lake, Troy Shearer and wife Elizabeth of Sandy Lake, and Tressa Shearer of Sandy Lake, grandchildren Terry Shearer and wife Donna of Clarks Mills, Tyler Shearer and wife Marti of Sandy Lake, Tiffani Shearer of Sandy Lake, Kevin Shearer and companion Tori Yeager of Sandy Lake, Robin and husband Harley Moore of Emlenton, and Marissa McLaughlin of Sandy Lake, great-grandchildren Trevor, Tristan, Travis, Finley, Frank, Reed, and Carter, as well as numerous brothers, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by three brothers. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro & Sandy Lake.
