Paul C. Medrick, Jr., 75, of Meadville, died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at his residence.
He was born May 2, 1938 in North Braddock, a son of Paul C. and Irene Augusta Meyer Medrick. He married Agnes Boban August 5, 1961 and she survives.
Paul was a graduate of Conneaut Valley High School, served on active duty with the U.S. Navy from 1957-1959, and subsequently with the naval reserves. He worked at Talon, Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio, and at various Tool and Die Companies in the Meadville area.
Paul was a member of the Vernon Central Volunteer Fire Department, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking, and was an avid reader.
Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Agnes of 52 years, include two daughters, Cindy Szymanski and her husband Jim of Waterford and Linda Wallin and her husband Tim of North East; a son, Paul Medrick, III and his wife Yvonne of Linesville; six grandchildren, Carl and Lydia Szymanski and Brandon, Victoria, Andrew, and Addison Medrick; a sister, Betty Morrow and her husband Don of Conneaut, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Nancy Johnson, Carole Blood, and Marion Schirmer and a brother, Ed Medrick.
A family memorial service will be Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake with the Rev. Marshall Lillie, Hospice of Crawford County Chaplain, officiating. Military honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, Meadville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., or the VNA Alliance, 704 N. Main St., both of Meadville, PA 16335.
