Paul E. “Mike” Sealand, 88 of Findley Twp, Mercer, passed away on October 21, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Paul was born in Mercer on February 28, 1931 to the late August and Esther (Cooper) Sealand, he worked at Reznor in Mercer from 1947 until his retirement in 1993. Mike proudly served his Country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was in six main combat battles and was a Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, and Silver and Bronze Campaign Ribbon recipient. Mike was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church in Jackson Center. He was also a member of the Mercer VFW and Mercer American Legion. He enjoyed doing yard work and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mike married his beloved wife, Alice Deel Sealand on October 11, 1951, just celebrating 67 years of marriage, she survives at home. In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his daughter, Debra (Jeff) Black of Mercer, son Mark Sealand of Mercer, grandchildren Michelle (Buddy) Cadwell of Grove City, Jennifer Wigton of Jackson Center, and Michael Sealand of Mercer, and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his son Michael in 2017, and three brothers, William Donald, and Carl Sealand. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. Funeral services will be private. Interment will take place in Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City. Memorials may be made in Mike’s name to the Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, 4401 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
