Paul E. Walker

Paul E. Walker, 85, of 11029 Cutter Road, Meadville died Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at the Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Robison, IL February 4, 1922.  He married June Eakin January 3, 1944 and she survives.

He retired in 1986 as service manager at Wentworth Auto Sales after 41 years of service.  In his retirement he worked for Dillaman Auto Body for 10 years and Enterprise Rent-A-Car for 2 years.

Paul was a 1942 graduate of Colestock High School in Titusville and was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Army 106th Infantry, 331st Medical Corps in Europe.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Meadville, Cochranton Masonic Lodge #790, Coudersport Consistory, Zem Zem Shrine Temple of Erie and its Royal Order of Jesters, Legion of Honor, and Camel Herders, Crawford County Shrine Club, a Charter Member of the Crawford County Motor Patrol, Kizmet Grotto, a Life Member of Townville American Legion, Meadville Elks Lodge #219 and Meadville Eagles Aerie #429.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, June, of 63 years, include: two sons, Charles E. Walker of Lexington, KY and Lt. Col. (Ret.) Richard P. Walker and his wife Susan of Richmond, VA; two half sisters, Wanda Walker of Atlantic and Lenore Ray of Titusville; four grandchildren, Jameson Walker and his wife Kristin, Sarah Mattocks and her husband Alex, Tobin Walker and his wife Jennifer, and Mark Walker and two great grandchildren, Jaiben Walker and Jackson Mattocks.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Walker and one half- brother, John Turner, Jr.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at  Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m..

The funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dave Brumagin, officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Jerusalem Corners Cemetery, Oil Creek Twp., Venango Co., PA.

The family suggests memorials be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 1645 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505-5097.
