Paul F. Wolff

Paul F. Wolff, 72, of Meadville, and a winter resident of Boca Raton, FL, died of natural causes at North Broward Hospital, Pompano Beach, FL on Tuesday, February 19, 1980.

Wolff was born in Meadville, July 5, 1907, a son of August R. and the former Austa T. Ford.  Wolff married Helen A. Drake August 22, 1928.

In 1932, Wolff joined his father in partnership of Wolff's Hardware.  His father retired in 1942 and Wolff's son, Ronald, joined him at the store in 1946.  Wolff later retired.

He formerly served 25 years on the American Hardware Board of Butler, was on the board of directors of the NW PA Bank and Trust Co. and the Meadville Advisory Board, and served on the Board of Corporators of City Hospital.

Wolff also was a past president and board member of Meadville Retail Council, served on the board of the Meadville Area Chamber of Commerce, and was on the board of the Kiwanis Club and a member for 30 years.

At the time of his death, Wolff was a member of Lodge 408 of the Free and Accepted Masons.  He belonged to the Zem Zem Shrine Temple of Erie, the Crawford County Shrine Club and the Scottish Rite Bodies of Erie.

Wolff was a former member of the Taylor Hose Co., Meadville County Club and the Iroquois Club.

Wolff is survived by his wife, Helen; a son, Ronald of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Hunter of Meadville and a brother, A. R. (Jim) Wolff of Blooming Valley; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
