Paul G. Hunter, 93, of Williamson Road, Meadville, died Tuesday August 11, 2009, at Crawford County Care Center, after a period of declining health.
He was born in East Mead Twp., Feb. 22, 1916, a son of the late William H. and Ella R. Eggert Hunter. He married Winsome Peterson June 17, 1939 and she survives.
Paul was a 1934 graduate of Meadville High School, and retired in 1979 from Talon as a tool and die maker after 45 years of service.
He had been an avid hunter and enjoyed scrap booking family history.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 70 years, include: 1 daughter, Paula G. Hunter, two sons, Leonard G. Hunter and his wife Toni, and Timothy W. Hunter and his wife Michele all of Meadville, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, one sister, Marguerite Giddings of Meadville and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Harriet Eckart and two brothers, William E. and Richard B. Hunter.
Friends may call Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with the funeral service following at 6 p.m. with Fr. Richard Toohey, Pastor of St. Mary of Grace Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
