Paul Glowa, 87, of Meadville and formerly of Linesville died Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
He was born July 13, 1930 in Carnegie, PA a son of Jacob and Anne Wussick Glowa. He married Clara Ann Carrick August 11, 1960 and she preceded him in death May 28, 2013.
He was a 1950 graduate of Allegheny Vocational High School in Pittsburgh and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army from 1952-1954. He had many jobs over the years, working for the Pennsylvania Railroad, as a Certified Inspection Mechanic at several truck repair garages in Pittsburgh, for Universal Cyclops in Bridgeville and for Utility Construction in Linesville. However, he was most known as the owner and operator with his wife Clara of the Pymatuning Camp Hotel in Linesville for 31 years.
His family was very important to him whether it was helping to build a house, helping to fix a car or anything else his family needed, he would be there. He was a content and patient man who was a jack of all trades, able to fix anything and was proud of the fact that he used all of his equipment for its full working life. He was a hard worker, often seen shoveling the snow at the motel. He was known for his tremendous smile and he always enjoyed some ice cream.
He is survived by three children, Paula Oppenlander and her husband Paul of Meadville, Jeffrey Glowa and his wife Susan of Greensburg and Malinda Glowa of Meadville; a grandson, Phillip and his wife Jen of Fayetteville, NC; a granddaughter, Sarah of Greensburg; a great granddaughter, Violet; two brothers, Walter Glowa and his wife Ruth Ann of Coraopolis and Carl Glowa and his wife Carol Ann of McKees Rocks; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Glowa of Bridgeville and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Paul Glowa and Jason Paul Glowa; a brother, John Glowa and his good friend who was always willing to give him a hand, Frank Browski.
