Paul H. Lackey

October 14, 1927 — January 21, 2011

Paul H. Lackey, 83, of Meadville, died Friday, January 21, 2011 at Meadville Medical Center.  He was born in New Castle, October 14, 1927 a son of Harry an Marion Campbell Lackey.

He was raised in Meadville, graduating from Meadville High School in 1945.  While in school and after graduation he worked at the John J. Shryock Co. until joining the Army in 1946.  After leaving the Army, he worked in sales and was manager at Hills Office Supply.

In his youth, Paul attended Grace United Methodist Church and sang in its choir.  Over the years, he sang in various choirs and at many weddings.  He was active for years as a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows Cussewago Lodge #108.  He was very active in the N/W Association and served as District Deputy Grand Master in 1955-1956.

In 1959, he married Beverly Meech Collier.  They lived in Erie, Franklin and Tionesta, where he was active in the church, teaching, singing and as treasurer.  After moving back to Meadville he has been a member of Pleasantview Alliance Church.

Paul retired in 1993 from the Trust Department of Integra Bank in Oil City as Vice-President of New Business Development.  While living in Oil City area, he served on the Visiting Nurses Association Board of Directors from 1991-2000.

Paul is survived by his wife Beverly, his two daughters, Gail Brosius and her husband Craig of Erie and Adrienne Settlemire of Beaufort, SC, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a sister, Edys Rensel of Youngsville, PA and a brother, William Lackey and his wife Helen of Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lackey, a step-son, Jeffrey Collier and numerous cousins.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Joseph Pjecha, Assoc. Pastor of Pleasantview Alliance Church, officiating.

The family suggests memorials be made to Pleasantview Alliance Church, 16251 State Hwy 86, Saegertown, PA 16433 or Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 N. Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335.
