Paul J. Bannon

July 21, 1911 — December 23, 1998

Paul J. Bannon, 87, of Maple Street, Meadville, died Wednesday, December 23, 1998 at Meadville Medical Center, following a period of declining health.

He was born in McKees Rocks, July 21, 1911, a son of Frank and Carolyn (Theis) Bannon.  He married Mary D. Fallon November 26, 1936.  She survives.

He retired from Talon in 1976 as head foreman of tool inspection and assembly in the tool manufacturing division.

He was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church and a life member of the Holy Name Society.  He graduated from St. Mary's School in McKees Rocks and attended Carnegie Institute of Technology and Allegheny College.  He taught trigonometry and compound angles in the tool and die program at the Crawford County Vo-Tech for 42 years.  He was a life member of Elks Lodge 219, member and past president of Talon Management Club, and Red Coat volunteer at Meadville Medical Center.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. William (Carol Ann) Brown of Marietta, GA; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant son and two brothers, Edward P. and Charles Bannon.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place at St. Brigid Church with interment in St. Brigid Cemetery.
