Paul J. Gilfoyle

Paul J. Gilfoyle, 78, of Conneaut Lake, died at home Sunday, March 6, 2011.

He was born in Pittsburgh, May 2, 1932 a son of George W. and Anna M. Lamneck Gilfoyle.  He married Patricia M. Roehn July 11, 1953 and she survives.

He worked as an insurance adjuster for State Farm Insurance for 19 years and then worked as a state tax collector for 13 years and was a member of AFSCME Local #8503.

He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army from 1953-1955.  He was a 1961 graduate of Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.  He was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Roman Catholic Church, church usher, lector and past member of Church Council.  Member of the Knights of Columbus #6037, Conneaut Lake Historical Society, the Italian Home Club, the Greenville Chapter AARP, Harm Jan Huidekoper VFW Post #2006, Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire Department and Conneaut Lake Park Volunteer Fire Department.  He also served as Secretary/Treasurer of PARSE (Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees).  He also was Cub Master of Troop 221, coach and umpire for Conneaut Lake Youth Association, Conneaut Lake Boro Zoning Officer,

Survivors in addition to his wife Patricia of 57 years, include: three sons, Dennis P. Gilfoyle and his wife Cynthia of Pittsburgh, Thomas M. Gilfoyle and his wife Ann of Dayton, OH and Kevin P. Gilfoyle and his wife Christine of Greenville; two daughters, Kathleen P. Bauer and her husband Paul of West Middlesex and Patricia R. Pritchard and her husband Robert of Butler; a brother, Thomas M. Gilfoyle of Dayton, OH; 21 grandchildren; a great granddaughter and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy R. Gilfoyle; a sister, Mary C. Byrne and a brother, Francis Gerald Gilfoyle.

Calling hours will be Saturday, March 12th from 10-11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, 155 S. Ninth Street, Conneaut Lake.  Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with Fr. Steve Anderson, Celebrant.

Inurnment will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery columbarium.
