Paul Michael Heckman

Paul Michael “Mike” Heckman, 81, of 8636 Heckman Road, Meadville died Monday, July 22, 2002 at Beverly Health Care Meadville.

He was born in Union Twp., February 5, 1921 a son of John and Margaret Stein Heckman.  He married Donna Dearborn June 10, 1945 and she preceded him in death May 10, 1989.

He was a life long carpenter and he retired from Watson Custom Cabinets.  He was also a life long farmer in Union Twp.  He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Cochranton Odd Fellows Lodge #902, Cochranton Grange #2030, Vernon Central Vol. Fire Dept. and the Crawford/Erie State Police.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors, include a daughter, Penny Luther of Dayton, OH; a son, Gary Heckman of Meadville; three grandchildren, Ayshea Heckman, Heather Pierce and Michael Luther; and a sister, Margaret Peterson of Mesa, AZ.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Heckman.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with John Wengerd, officiating.

Burial will be in Huber Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Tamarack Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, 21601 Stull Road, Saegertown, PA 16433.
