Paul N. Maynard, 60, of Saegertown, passed away at home surrounded by his family, Friday, October 3, 2014 following a courageous three year battle with cancer.
He was born December 15, 1953 in Meadville a son of Norman A. and Nancy T. Heberling Maynard. He married Cynthia L. Wheeling December 19, 1986 and she survives.
He was a 1972 graduate of Cambridge Springs High School and worked as a custodian at the Penncrest School District and previously worked as an inspection mechanic at S and J Auto in Saegertown.
His grandchildren were his life and he enjoyed attending all of their sporting events and school activities. He was a jack of all trades and was the family’s go to guy for any auto repair issues. He loved fishing and attending auctions. He also spent time working the family farm in Saegertown.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Cindy of 27 years, include: seven children, Christopher Maynard and his wife Kristy of Cochranton and their children Madison, Dylan and C.J., Rebecca Byler and her husband Bradley of Atlantic and their children, Janae, Aryah, Ashton and one expected in December, Arlina Betancur and her husband Jensen of Center Valley, PA, Stephani Cormier and her husband Edward of Saegertown and their children, Alysha and Marissa, Joseph Jackson of Saegertown and his children, Kala, Breonna and Joelle, Christina Nelson and her husband Jesse of Germany and their children, Jesse Jr., Alexandria, Erik and Katarina and Heather Poole and her husband Shawn of Cochranton and their children Elizabeth, Colby, Drew and Abbigayle; one great granddaughter, Harlyn; four sisters, Twila Palmer of Meadville, Dorothy Maynard of Saegertown, Norma Maynard of Springboro and Mary Washok of Saegertown; a brother, Timothy Maynard and his wife Janet of Conneautville and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Maynard and two brothers-in-law, James Palmer, Sr. and Joseph Washok.
Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Greg Spencer, Pastor of Cochranton United Methodist Church, officiating.
