Paul N. Sipe, 88, formerly of Meadville and current resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville since February 17, 1992, died there, Wednesday, August 14, 1996 following a period of declining health.
He was born December 18, 1907 in Fenelton, a son of the Rev. William P. and Anna Pearl King Sipe. He married Josephine A. Quinn in 1932. She died July 31, 1990.
He worked at the former American Viscose, Meadville in the payroll office and subsequently worked as a deputy Crawford County treasurer. He attended Grove City College for two years and was a veteran of World War II as a staff sergeant in the US Army Medical Corps; he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Meadville.
Survivors include three sisters, Elsie McConnell and Gladys Andrews, both of Little Valley, NY and Hazel Green of Franklin; and also nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Earl and Glenn Sipe.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
