Paul S. Roberts, night foreman at American Viscose Division of FMC Corp., collapsed in the company's parking lot Tuesday, October 4, 1966, and was dead on arrival at City Hospital.
A resident of Saegertown, Mr. Roberts was born at Meadville, July 1, 1903, a son of Charles Sherman and Ida E. Brooks Roberts. On October 26, 1942, he married Hallie M. Johnson. He was employed with American Viscose for 32 years.
Mr. Roberts was a member of First Baptist Church, Eagles Club of Meadville, French Creek Chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Cussewago IOOF Lodge and FMC Avisco Management Club. He was a past president of the Saegertown Lions Club.
A graduate of Meadville High School, he attended Allegheny College where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
Surviving, in addition to his widow, are two sons, Robert Roberts of Hialeah, FL and Thomas Roberts of Pittsburgh; two step-sons, Norman Yoset and Leonard Johnson of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Helen Bromley of Meadville; two brothers, Ralph H. of Meadville and Clifford J. of Saegertown and six grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Anderson Cemetery.
