Paul W. Mushrush

Paul W. Mushrush, 97, of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021 surrounded by his family at his daughter’s home in Massillon, OH.

He was born May 14, 1923 in Meadville, a son of Scott D. and Clara Rice Mushrush.  He married Erma C. Roha September 4, 1948 and she preceded him in death March 20, 2008.

Paul was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946.  He worked as an engineer for the Erie, Erie-Lackawanna, and Conrail Railroads for 42 years, retiring in 1983.

Paul was a member of First Presbyterian Church and 55 year-member and past master of Crawford Masonic Lodge 234.  He enjoyed taking walks every day, doing yard work, gardening, woodworking, target shooting, boating, fishing and golfing.  Most importantly Paul was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He enjoyed being with his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the apples of his eyes.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Wykoff (Ed) of Massillon, OH; two grandsons, Michael Wykoff (Kelly) and David Wykoff (Amanda); four great-grandchildren, Samuel, Benjamin, Abigail and Noah Wykoff; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donovan and Donald Mushrush and two sisters, Genevieve Hadley and Betty Frigo.

Calling hours will be Friday, April 16th from 4-7 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE with a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m.  The wearing of masks is required.

A funeral service will be Saturday, April 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Brian Jensen, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Huidekoper VFW Post #2006.
