Paul W. Waid

Paul W. Waid, 81, of Meadville, died Monday, April 27, 1998 at Horizon Health System, Greenville Campus following a short illness.

He was born June 18, 1916 in Guys Mills, a son of the late Joseph F. and Maude E. Burchard Waid.  He married Margaret E. Harden, June 23, 1937.  She preceded him in death March 28, 1993.

Mr. Waid retired in 1980 as a carman with Conrail after 32 years of service.  He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served in WWII.  He was a member of the Erie-Lackawanna Veterans Assn.  He was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include one son, David B. Waid (Mary Lou) of Meadville; two daughters, Shirley C. Isenberg (Kenneth) of Jamestown and Emily C. Parker of Meadville; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, J. Gerald Waid of Atlanta, TX and Kenneth A. Waid of Burlington, KS.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick B. and Willard L. Waid.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Townley Cemetery, Richmond Township.
