Paul Edward (Ed) Walls

Paul Edward (Ed) Walls, 74, of Meadville, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at the Crawford County Care Center following a period of declining health.

He was born October 5, 1926 in Meadville, a son of the late Joseph H. and Gwendola M. Sutton Walls, Sr.  He married Muriel P. Mathews December 13, 1943 and she survives.

He was a US Army Veteran of WWII, having served from 1944 to 1946.  He retired in 1986 from the Erie Railroad following 37 years of service doing reclamation work.  He also worked in the maintenance department at Canto Tool Co. for many years.  He was a member of Meadville Elks Lodge #219, Meadville Eagles Aerie #423, Meadville Club, Harm Jan Huidekoper Veteran of Foriegn Wars Post #2006, West Mead VFD #2, Vernon Central VFD and the Crawford County Aux. Police.  He especially enjoyed hunting.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Jack I. Walls (Patricia) of Meadville and William E. Walls (Juanita) of Conneautville; two daughters, Sandra L. Burns (Jack) of Meadville and Patricia A. Rossi (Jeff Mosbacher) of Meadville; one sister, Betty Jane Davern (William) of Meadville; four brothers, Jerry Walls (Joanne) of Meadville, Jack Walls (Florence) of Blooming Valley, Waldon Walls (Phyllis) of Lincoln, NE and Robert Walls (Ruby) of Grand Valley, PA; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaretta Jean Walls and Anna Mae Walls and a brother, Joseph Walls.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
