Penelope Crosby Donaldson

Penelope Crosby Donaldson died Thursday January 5, 2006, at age 96 in Gaithersburg, MD.

She was the daughter of former U.S. Congressman from Meadville, Charles N. Crosby and Isabel Fetterman Crosby.  Born June 17, 1909, she had lived in Meadville until 1998, when she moved to Rockville, MD.

She was a member of Meadville High School Class of 1927, and served as Class Officer for their many reunions. She later attended Allegheny College until marrying Robert A. Donaldson.  Mr. Donaldson passed on in 1980.

They had two children, Walter A. (Zan) Donaldson of Rockville, MD, and Ann D. Taylor of Silver Spring, MD.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and by her brother John Crosby of Windsor, CA and her sister Ann C. Remus of St.Louis, MO.

She retired from Talon, Inc. in 1960, where she also served for many years as an officer of the Talon Federal Credit Union. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Meadville.

Burial services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Travis Webster, Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
