Peter Gaidosh

Peter Gaidosh, 84, of 667 Chelsea Drive, Sanford, NC and a former Meadville resident, passed away, Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at St. Joseph's of the Pines Health Center, Southern Pines, NC.

He was born June 16, 1925 in Hancock, WV a son of John and Anna Waszczyszak Gaidosh.  He married Mary Ruth Van Doren and she survives.

He was veteran of World War II serving in the US Army in Europe, where he was the recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.  He retired from the Singer Heatrex Company.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Mary Ruth, include: a son, Brent Gaidosh and his wife Gail, grandsons, Drew and Peter, step grandson, Christopher, step-granddaughter, Amanda, great granddaughter, Aiyana and two great grandsons Kaiden and Justin all of Meadville; a daughter, Laurie Shultz and her husband Stephen and grandsons, Andrew and Casey all of Suffolk, VA; a sister, Mildred Courtemanche of East Rochester, NY, three nieces and a nephew.

A private graveside service will be held at Greendale Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Timothy Solomon, Pastor of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, officiating.

The family suggests memorials be made to First Health Hospice, 5 Aviemore Drive, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
