Philip Edward Haun

Philip Edward Haun, 63, of Saegertown, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Meadville Medical Center.

He was born April 10, 1951 in Sharon, PA a son of Louis D. and Ruth Shively Haun.

He was a 1969 graduate of Sharpsville High School and attended Thiel College.  He worked his whole career in the newspaper industry working in circulation for the Tampa Tribune, Tampa, FL; for the Huntington Herald, Huntington, WV; as circulation director for the Tuscaloosa News, Tuscaloosa, AL; General Manager of the Noblesville Daily News, Noblesville, IN; at the USA Today in Pittsburgh, PA; owned and operated Weise’s Newsstand in Bridgeville, PA; Publisher of the Lincoln Journal in Hamlin, WV; Publisher and President of the Star News in Ravenswood, WV and finished his career at the Summerville Journal, Summerville, SC.

He was a member of the Orangeville United Methodist Church, National Rifle Association, the Saegertown American Legion Post #205 and Ashton Masonic Lodge #12, Ravenswood, WV.

He is survived by a sister, Marsha Vivian and her husband Joe of Blooming Valley; a step-son, William J. Crawford of Dover, PA; a step-daughter, Krista Crawford of Charleston, SC; five step-grandchildren; two nieces, Kendra Burger and her husband Melvin of Blooming Valley and Darcee Eichensehr and her husband Aaron of Potomac Falls, VA; two great nephews and four great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at Orangeville United Methodist Church, 7850 Stateline Road, Orangeville, OH at a later date.

Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Sharpsville, PA.
