Phyllis Faye Pardee Murray

Phyllis Faye Pardee Murray, 68, of Lakeland, Fla., passed away Friday, Nov 2, 2007, at Lakeland Regional Memorial Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

Born April 19, 1939 in Meadville, she was a daughter of Victor W. and Dortha E. Cain Pardee, both deceased.  Phyllis was a 1957 graduate of Meadville Area High School and attended her 50th class reunion this past summer, truly enjoying reminiscing with former classmates.

She married Robert A. Murray, June 3, 1967; he survives.

Phyllis and family moved to Paramus, NJ in 1967.  She worked for 19 years at Van Natta Mechanical in Montvale NJ in Human Resources.  After retiring in 2005, Phyllis and her husband relocated to Lakeland, Florida.

Phyllis enjoyed the theater, playing bunco and traveling, including several cruises.  Most of all, Phyllis cherished the time spent with her family and friends.

Survivors include four children; daughter, Janet M. McSherry and her husband Joseph, of Paramus, NJ; sons Jeffrey W. Toner and his wife Denise of Emerson, NJ; Robert D. Murray and his wife, Patricia of Lakeland, FL and William A. Murray and his wife, Linda, of Hillsdale, NJ, and nine grandchildren.  She is also survived by four sisters, Patricia A. Magruder of Brandon, FL; Vickie R. Kurt of Meadville; Judy A. Reiter of Peoria, AZ and Joyce L. Bradley of Meadville; numerous loving nieces and nephews and cousins; a special aunt, Leola Onspaugh of Painesville, Ohio and extended family and friends.

As per her wishes, cremation was chosen.   The memorial service will be December 8th at 2:00 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville, with the Rev. Martin Hardy, Pastor of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, officiating.  The family encourages photos and stories of Phyllis to be shared.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 464 Pine St., Meadville, Pa, 16335;  or Victory Church Journey, Cancer Support Group, %Tracey Mensing, Coordinator, 1401 Grffin Road, Lakeland, FL 33810, an outreach support group that brought much comfort to Phyllis aiding in the journey through her illness.  A special account has been set up in memory of Phyllis.
