Phyllis J. Wells, 60 of Meadville and most recently Jackson Center, passed away on September 14, 2020 at UPMC Hamot. Phyllis was born in Mercer on October 12, 1959 to the late Cecil and Christina (Fisher) Wells. She was a 1977 graduate of Lakeview High School, earned her Associates in Nursing from Sharon Regional, and her Bachelors in Nursing from Slippery Rock. She worked for 40 years at Meadville Medical Center in the Oncology Department and the Medical-Surgical Department, retiring in 2019. She also worked at H&R Block for 25 years, enjoying traveling to the yearly conventions. Phyllis loved her career and helping people. She enjoyed traveling and especially loved playing Pokémon GO. She loved her family especially spending time with her nieces and nephews, and enjoyed the company of her cat, Princess. Phyllis is survived by her siblings, James M. Wells, and wife, Linda, of Mercer, Richard A. Wells of Stoneboro, Susan K. Wells of Stoneboro, and Diane E. Wheeler, and husband, Tim, of Jackson Center, nieces and nephews Kaylyn, Brandon, Brian, and Elizabeth, James Jr., Thomas, Judy, Betty, Donna, Nancy, and Cindy. In addition to her parents Phyllis was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Wells, and her grandparents. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of Stoneboro, 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome from 6:00 PM -8:00 PM on Friday, September 18, 2020. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2020. Interment will be private.
