Phyllis L. Ruhlman, 60, of Meadville, died at Meadville Medical Center on Tuesday, February 6, 1990, after an extended illness.
She was born in Sligo on July 21, 1929, a daughter of William A. and Esther Carmichael Stewart. She married Richard J. Ruhlman on June 21, 1952. He survives.
She was a teacher in the Crawford Central School District, at Second District School, for 26 years. She had formerly taught at Warren and Millcreek Township schools for four years. She was a member of the Old Stone United Methodist Church. She graduated from Clarion State University and did graduate work at Edinboro State University and Penn State Univeristy and Penn State University.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Amy C. Eisenberg, Haiku, Maui, Hawaii and Margaret E. Ruhlman of Meadville; a son, R. Ray Ruhlman of Philadelphia; two sisters, Vivian McDonald of Marianville and Janet Kucaba of Geneseo, NY; one brother, Dan T. Stewart of Denver, CO; one grandson; one uncle and five aunts.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
