Priscilla C. Rohrer, 88, of Meadville and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community for the past two years, died there Monday, January 6, 2014.
She was born in Tamworth, NH in 1925 a daughter of William and Eunice Hidden Clapp. She married Robert Lee Rohrer, Sr. April 25, 1946 and he preceded her in death October 18, 1998.
She was a graduate of Swampscott High School in Swampscott, MA and Westbrook College in Portland, ME. She worked as a secretary for the American Red Cross in Meadville and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed golfing and swimming. She was very active socially and enjoyed spending time with her many friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam Curtis and her husband Scott of Meadville and Linda Pearson and her husband Charles of Enola, PA; three grandchildren, Charles H. Goyette of Pittsburgh, Clayton Curtis of Atlanta, GA and Gregory Curtis of Pittsburgh and a brother, Gordon Clapp of Dunn, NC.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Rohrer, Jr.
Calling hour will be Saturday, January 18th from 10-11 a.m. in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty Street, Meadville. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Chapel with Rev. Dr. Brian K. Jensen, Pastor, officiating. A reception will follow in the church social hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine Street, Meadville or the First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA.
