R. Brian Learn, Sr.

R. Brian Learn, Sr., 54, of Meadville died unexpectedly from heart complications Monday, July 23, 2018 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born April 1, 1964 in Meadville a son of David B. and Constance Josephine Maggio Learn II.  He married Tina Louise Weyman and subsequently married Amy Jo Lybrook March 7, 2014 and she survives.

He was a 1982 graduate of Meadville High School and was co-owner with his son Brian of Chipsco, Inc. and part owner of Controlled Molding Inc.  He was a journeyman toolmaker and had a brilliant tool & die mind.  He was very passionate about his work and loved spending time at the shop.  His other great love was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Amy, include:  five children, R. Brian Learn, Jr. and his wife Courtney of Meadville, Kyle M. Learn of Orlando, FL, Kevin M. Learn and his wife Paige of Meadville, Benjamin Lybrook of Warren, PA and Katlin Erdley and her husband Eric of Meadville; five grandchildren, Mayland Elle Learn, Shepherd George Learn, Hallie Grace Learn, Tenley Reese Learn, Easton Jo Erdley and two more on the way; his mother, Connie Learn of Meadville; daughter-in-law, Laurel Learn of Saegertown; a sister, Patty Leech and her husband Dan of Meadville; two brothers, D. Blair Learn III and his wife Susan of Meadville and Joseph Stainbrook and his wife Kathy of Meadville; his beloved dog, Ted and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Tyler Donovan Learn and a sister, Kathleen Stainbrook.

Calling hours will be Thursday, July 26th from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Friday, July 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Paul Rogers, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
