R. Wesley Hoover, 79, of Guys Mills, died Saturday, June 23, 1984, at Spencer Hospital, after a long illness.
He was born in Clearfield County, October 17, 1904, a son of Andrew and Grace McClaren Hoover. He was married November 1, 1927, to Mary Weaver, who survives.
He retired in 1968 from Uarco Inc., a printing company at Cleveland. Previously, he was employed at Dotts and DJ Shugart garages in the Clearfield area.
He was a member of United Church of Guys Mills. He served in the US Army from 1925 to 1926.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Donna) Shumaker of Guys Mills and Mrs. Gordon Kent of Guys Mills; four sons, Wesley Arden of Kenton, DE, Frederick Darl of Coatesville, Wayne of Guys Mills and Lee of West Grove; a sister, Mrs. Earl (Inez) Aughenbaugh of Curwnesville; sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
