Rachael M. Kebort, 99, formerly of Oak Street, Meadville and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center since January 2010 died there Saturday, January 22, 2011.
She was born in French Creek Twp., Venango Co., July 5, 1911 a daughter of Mark Stephen and Blanche Emily Mulholland McKinley. She married Wallace E. Kebort August 29, 1931 and he preceded her in death January 18, 1995.
She worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses in Meadville over the years, including the Yost Manufacturing, Carpenter Electric, Montgomery Wards, Robbins Furniture, the Crawford Store and the Kepler Hotel. She was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School and Meadville Commercial College. She was a former member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trianmen Auxiliary, Meadville Rescue Squad Auxiliary, Meadville Elks Lodge #219 Auxiliary and the Tuesday Night Card Club. She was an avid reader and card player, enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, crossword and word search puzzles.
Survivors, include: a son, Wallace H. Kebort of Meadville; a daughter, Linda K. McQueen and her husband Harvey of Meadville; three sisters, Lillian Dougherty of Franklin, Mary M. Miller of Franklin and Lila Steck of Elizabethtown, KY; a brother-in-law, Richard Frantz of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Dorothy McKinley of Denver, CO; five grandchildren, Kenneth Kebort and his wife Kim of Saegertown, Brian Kebort and his wife Andrea of Hartstown, Kimberly Higby and her husband Jeff of Lake City, Christopher McQueen and his wife Dana of Mt. Pleasant, PA and Jennifer Wanner and her husband Brad of Mechanicsburg, PA; nine great grandchildren, Justin, Kaylee, Joshua and Breanna Kebort, Matthew and Kelly Higby and Johnathan, Connor and Sarah McQueen and numerous, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Joyce L. Kebort; an infant daughter, a sister, Phyllis Brown; three brothers, Mark Stephen McKinley, Jr., John L. McKinley and James F. McKinley and a sister, Patricia Frantz.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3-6:30 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral and committal service will follow at 6:30 p.m. with Deacon Harvey McQueen, Son-in-law, officiating.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
