Ralph C. Smock

April 5, 1906 — May 30, 1981

Ralph C. Smock, 75, of Meadville, died Saturday, May 30, 1981, at Community Hospital, Kissimmee, FL, where he had been a patient for three weeks.  He had been in failing health.

He was born at Guys Mills, April 5, 1906, a son of Curtis and Iva Cutshall Smock.  He married Nellie J. Rodgers in 1928.  She died November 30, 1980.  He retired after 35 years as an agent for Prudential Life Insurance.  He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.

He was a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge 408; a life member of Elks Lodge 219, Meadville; and a member of Taylor Hose and Meadville Country Club.  He was a US Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Carol Lynn) Miner of Carol Stream, IL; a son, Richard R. Smock of Kissimmee, FL; a brother, Lloyd K. Smock of Meadville; twelve greandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Rodger, in 1979 and a sister, Mabel, in 1978.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
