Ralph F. Gigone, 90, of Meadville, died Saturday, July 25, 1987, at Meadville Medical Center after an illness of several months.
He was born on August 28, 1896 in West Mead Township, a son of Frank and Josephine Laurent Gigone. He married M. Frances Gartner on September 20, 1923, who survives.
He was a graduate of Meadville Commercial College and served as a sergeant with the US Amry in World War I. He was self-employed in farming in West Mead Township for 30 years and retired from the Meadville Tribune as a mailroom supervisor after 16 years service.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Madeline) Check of Youngsville and Mrs. John (Annette) Graves of Hampstead, MD; one son, James R. Gigone of Boulder, CO; four great-grandchildren; two nephews; and one cousin.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
