Ralph M. Greenlee, 77, of Meadville, died Saturday, August 11, 1973, after an illness of several years at Methodist Nursing Hospital where he had been a patient for four months.
He was born at Pittsfield September 2, 1895, a son of Elmer and Cora McClure Greenlee. He married Maybelle Mattson in 1918.
He was self-employed at Arkport, NY, as the proprietor of Greenlee's Grocery for 28 years. He also operated Greenlee's Insurance Agency at Arkport for 12 years until retiring in 1963. Since 1965, he had resided with his wife in Meadville. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and an elder at the Arkport Presbyterian Church. He was a 50-year member of Hornellsville Masonic Lodge at Hornell, NY and a life member of the Exchange Club at Arkport.
Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Wilbur C. (Barbara) Thomas of Meadville; three brothers, LeRoy Greenlee of Inglewood, CA, Marshall Greenlee of North Chili, NY and Merle Greenlee of Rochester, NY; two grandchildren, Peter and Susan Thomas of Meadville; several nieces and nephews. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
