Ralph W. Palmer, 79, of Guys Mills, was pronounced dead on arrival at City Hospital of an apparent heart attack suffered at his home Wednesday, April 11, 1973.
He was born at Black Ash March 21, 1894, a son of John and Ollie Manning Palmer. He was married to Emma Lewis in 1916. He retired as a mechanic at American Viscose Division of FMC Corp. in 1959. He did welding and repair work as his home since his retirement.
Surviving, in addition to his widow, are three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Arlene) Flaugh of Meadville, Mrs. Forrest (Pauline) Roberts of Greenville and Mrs. James ( Shirley) Cleland of Coraopolis; three sisters, Mrs. Homer (Florence) Stentz and Mrs. Fred (Ethel) Smith, both of Jackson, MI and Mrs. Sylvester (Ruby) Chaffee of Pinellas Park, FL; a brother, Harold Palmer of Jackson; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A son, Ralph, Jr., preceded him in death.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
