Ray Richard Young

Ray Richard Young, 73, of Guys Mills, died Saturday, February 3, 1990, at Meadville Medical Center following a sudden illness.

He was born in Greensburg, May 16, 1916, a son of Oscar and Katherine Dunkel Young.  He married Florence Irene Peterson, November 27, 1942.  She survives.

He had retired from his position with Universal Cyclops, Titusville.  He had previously been employed by the former American Viscose Co., Meadville.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include seven sons, Thomas R. of Black Ash, Robert E. and William A. of Meadville, Gary A. of Guys Mills, Christopher H. of Clarion, Philip M. of Titusville and Stephen B. of Winchester, VA; a sister, Marian Smith of Greensburg; three brothers, Edward Young of Frostburg, MD, Wilson Young of Glenhurst, NJ and Robert Young of Norfolk, VA; sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, a sister, Theresa Young and six brothers, Philip, William, Oscar, Calvin, Wilbert and Leroy Young.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
