Raymond A. Holabaugh

Raymond A. Holabaugh, 89, of Meadville (Vernon Township), died Monday, July 6, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born November 15, 1925 in Meadville, a son of John Albert and L. Marguerite Smith Holabaugh.  He married Lila Nichols August 24, 1946 and she survives.

Ray was a self-employed dairy farmer and a Patz dealer for Holabaugh Sales and Service for almost 60 years.  He was a member of Watson Run Church of God and member of the Consistory for many years.

Ray was a life-member of Vernon Central Volunteer Fire Department and member of the Watson Run Cemetery Assn. Board of directors and coordinator of farm machinery at the Crawford County Fair, for many years.  He enjoyed all kinds of sports and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying nature, wildlife, hunting, and fishing.  He also enjoyed traveling by motorhome throughout the U.S. and loved riding his “gator” all over the farm and into the woods.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Lila of almost 69 years, include three daughters, Janice Ann Quinn and her husband Tom, Joyce Marie Gillespie, and Marguerite (Peg) Packard and her husband Raymond, Jr., all of Meadville; seven grandchildren, Wendy Blashak and her husband Tim, Michael Quinn, Darla Brown and Charles Ingram, Maria Elkady, Marci Armel and her husband Ray, Stephanie Breckenridge and her husband Scott, and Matthew Packard and Shelly Blye; twelve great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Walter Holabaugh and a nephew, Wayne Holabaugh.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Hough, Pastor of Watson Run Church of God and the Rev. Sam Heagy, co-officiating.

Interment will be in Watson Run Cemetery.
