Raymond C. Clark

October 21, 1919 — September 19, 2006

Raymond C. Clark, 86, formerly of Harmonsburg Rd. and a resident of Rolling Fields Nursing Home since August 2003, died there, Tuesday, September 19, 2006 following a period of declining health.

He was born in Jefferson, PA October 21, 1919 the son of the late James L. and Flora Landis Clark.  After his mother’s death at the age of three, he was raised by Elizabeth and Christy Jack of Hartstown.  He married Cleola M. Kightlinger March 6, 1940 in Winchester, VA and she survives.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy in the Pacific Theater.  After being honorably discharged he worked for American Viscose, Lew Davies Pontiac Dealership, Montgomery Wards and retired from Sears in 1973 after 18 years of service.

He was a member of Watson Run United Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of Huidekoper VFW Post 2006.  He coached little league baseball in his younger years, was an avid golfer and hunter, especially during deer season, loved gardening and had a camp at Hearts Content for many years.  In his retirement, he and his wife spent time between their homes in Port Orange, FL and Meadville.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of Cleola of 66 years, include: one daughter, Susan Rappa and her husband James of Conneaut Lake; one son, Gary L. Clark of Port Orange, FL; a son-in-law, Jack A. Nageotte of Meadville; four grandchildren, Kristie Shimko and her husband Eric of Meadville, Jeff Clark and his wife Debbie of Lignum, VA, Jack M. Nageotte and his wife Lisa of Meadville and Tim Nageotte and his wife Nicci of Hales Corners, WI; five great grandchildren, Alyssa Camasi, Case Gryta, Zachery Nageotte, Alyssa Clark and Ryan Shimko; one sister Peggy Seffens of Orange City, FL; and a brother-in-law, Jack Kightlinger and his wife Adele of Hendersonville, NC and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a loving daughter, Linda D. Nageotte, 3 sisters, Mildred Robson, Emma Pringle Morris, Vera Clark, and 4 brothers, Cecil, Jess, Robert, and Jack Clark.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc. 581 Chestnut St. where the funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Frank Duncan, retired pastor from Watson Run United Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Greendale Cemetery.
