Raymond E. Miller

Raymond E. Miller, 81, of Meadville died peacefully at home Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from complications of diabetes.  He was born August 14, 1939 in Slippery Rock a son of Fred R. and Twyla A. Shaw Miller.  He married Judy A. Bunce October 1, 1973 and she survives.

He was a 1957 graduate of Meadville High School and was a veteran serving in the US Air Force from 1957-1964.  He worked as a tool maker for Imperial Carbide for 28 years retiring in 1997.  He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.  He had a great love of hot air ballooning and enjoyed crewing for Frank Byham for 10 years.  He also loved traveling and spending winters in Florida.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Judy of 47 years, include: two daughters, Barbara A. (Bambi) Symons (Warren) of Winchester, VA and Dawn E. Smith of Washington, PA; five grandchildren, Elizabeth D. Symons (Tim King), Dayna C. Symons, Monica G. Symons, Madelene R. Smith and Colten J. Smith; a nephew, Tim Fleming of Arizona; an uncle, LaMont Miller of Illinois and numerous cousins

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Yvonne K. Miller and Ella May Fleming and two brothers, James W. Miller and John W. Miller.

Calling hours will be Monday, January 25, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
