Rebecca J. Dragosavac

Rebecca J. Dragosavac, 88, formerly of Penn St. and Northgate, Meadville, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community following a period of declining health.

She was born July 11, 1923 in Clearfield, a daughter of Robert K. and Ethel Shaw Steele.  She married Frank I. Dragosavac June 20, 1944.

Rebecca was a 1941 graduate of Clearfield High School and was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.  A homemaker, she was of the Protestant faith, was formerly active with the Meadville Community Theater and was an avid reader.

Survivors, in addition to her loving husband Frank of 67 years, include six children, Larry J. Dragosavac and his wife Gayle of Dayton, OH, Barbara L. Armstrong and her husband Stan of Guys Mills, Robert F. Dragosavac and his wife Joy of Meadville, Ruth A. Beish and her husband Gary of Meadville, William C. Dragosavac and his wife Michelle of Pickens, SC, and Steven J. Dragosavac and his wife Andi of Amarillo, TX; sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Samuel Steele and his wife Sara of New Bern, NC; a son-in-law, David Beach of Nashville, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David G. Dragosavac and two daughters, Joan Dragosavac and Sarah J. Beach.

A private family funeral service will be held at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with the Rev. Dave Brumagin officiating.

Interment will be in St. Agatha Cemetery.
