Rebecca Lord, 92, a resident of Beverly Health Care Meadville, died Friday, December 24, 1999 at Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health.
She was born in Meadville, August 15, 1907, a daughter of the late Richard T. and Nellie Andrews Lord.
She was a 1927 graduate of Meadville High School and attended the Cleveland School of Art. She also studied under George Elmer Brown of Cape Code, MA and several others. She was an accomplished local artist and art teacher. She was a member of the Meadville Council of the Arts, the former Meadville Fine Arts Assn. and the Crawford County Historical Society. She was also a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
Survivors include a niece, Virginia Lord Sutter of Union City; a nephew, Richard T. Lord of Bethel Park; a cousin, Carol Andrews Richmond of Maple Heights, OH; also great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard T. (Ted) Lord and Charles P. (Parker) Lord and a great nephew, Michael Van Riper.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
