Retta Shilling Glover went to be with her Lord on Monday, November 28, 2016. She is survived by three children, Will (Lynn) Shilling, Susan (Gary) Blose and Matthew (Suzanne) Shilling; three grandsons, Thomas (Andrea) Shilling, Michael Shilling and Aaron (Leigha) Blose; a granddaughter, Reagan Shilling; a great granddaughter, Lucy Shilling; four sisters, Patricia, Ginger, Pam, and Janet; a brother, William and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Leah Durig, as well as her sister, Margaret and four brothers, Max, Doyle, Tom and Shannon Retta retired as a Registered Nurse and enjoyed many aspects of the nursing profession. She enjoyed crocheting, canning, growing indoor plants and trying new recipes. Holidays were a special time with family and friends. Retta was a member of New Beginnings Church of God and volunteered with bulletins, newsletter, substitute Bible Study teacher, intercessory prayer group and prayer chain. She has prayed for many years for life flight occupants patients, medics and pilot every time they flew over her home. This started one day while ironing in the 1970s. After retirement, Retta looked after her dear friend, Maria Sachs, with whom she had worked at the former Spencer Hospital. The services will be private for the family with interment in Mitchell Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donors choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville where memories and condolences may be shared at www.waidfuneralhome.net
