Reuben W. Teed, 95, formerly of Erie and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center since March, died there Sunday, October 8, 2017.

He was born in Guys Mills January 21, 1922 a son of Oakley and Iva Higby Teed.  He married Florence M. Snyder December 23, 1945 and she preceded him in death August 11, 2009.

He was a graduate of Randolph/East Mead High School and was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army in the south Pacific.  He worked as a chiropractor in Georgia and then worked in various shops in the Erie area.  He was very kind, giving and a happy soul.  He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.

He is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Nevin, Leeland, Almer and Horace (Whitey) Teed and two sisters, Shirley Thornton and Ena Smith.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 12-1 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dave Brumagin, officiating.  Military honors will follow.

Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
