Rev. Austin N. Harris

The Rev Austin N. Harris, 82, retired Baptist minister who served as Sunday School superintendent at St. John's Baptist Church, died Sunday, March 13, 1960, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Scott (Bertha) Jenkins of Meadville, after an illness of one week.

The Rev. Mr. Harris was born in Port Gibson, Miss., December 6, 1877, a son of Mack and Laura Harris.  He graduated from Alcorn College near Port Gibson and served a number of Baptist pastorates in his native state.  He had made his home with Mrs. Jenkins since 1953.  He was married to the late Mary Buck.

Surviving besides Mrs. Jenkins are nine other daughters, two sons, a sister, two brothers, thirty-six grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren and niece and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
